Emma's poor belly button ;(

What a crazy week! On Tuesday March 12th, Emma started acting different when she woke up from her afternoon nap. She was screaming (which is not normal), and so a bottle was given. After only drinking 2 of the 6 oz, she stopped and started crying. I picked her up and tried to hold the bottle but she wasn't drinking! After another 30 minute cry and trying to figure out what was going on she threw up! ;(
I checked her umbilical hernia (that she was born with) and something was wrong. She would scream when I would try to push her belly button back in. I called Matt (but he had gone golfing and put his phone in his bag so I quit calling after 28 times)! I called Matt's mom to come stay with Wes because I was taking Emma up to Primary's, after 2 more throw ups! As I was getting ready to leave Matt showed up and came with me (thank goodness)

At Primary's the assistant surgeon came in and said her intestines were twisted and stuck in a little hole, and this usually never happens, it's very rare that we have to repair them in babies. But sure enough the surgeon wanted to operate! Emma was admitted around 11:30pm and Matt went home to stay with Westley while I slept in the same bed with Emma! (First and only time that will happen, unless she has to come to the hospital again! Fingers crossed she doesn't have to)
Her surgery was on March 13, 2013 at 7:30am. It took about an hour and I was nervous the entire time! Thankfully she's a strong little girl and the surgery went perfectly. She is a different kid since getting that fixed. I'm so happy it wasn't serious and that it's been taken care of now instead of later. Love me some Emma, my favorite daughter on the planet!!
